How to answer the interview question, ‘Why should we give the job to you?’

The WHY, WHAT, HOW approach.  It will differentiate you from the other candidates.

The interviewer asks you WHY you should get the job.

You answer, ‘Because of WHAT I can do for you and the department.’  Then address some of the real issues that face the interviewer.  Issues that you should have ascertained during your research and during the interview.

Then explain HOW you will do that.  Don’t be arrogant – be calm, confident and professional in your claims.
